I have just updated and now I am being asked to pick a theme, why?
The new version of the app that you have just downloaded is Version 3.0+ which now includes the ability to switch between different themes and select your choice of looks for your calendar. Currently there are two skins available and more are slated for release in the future. When you first start up your app, after downloading the update, you will be asked to select between the default Plan2Go (a standard gray and brown theme) and Pink Ribbon (a pink and pastel theme meant to show your support for breast cancer research). After you have selected your theme tap Save in the upper right hand corner to continue.

What does registering do for me? How can I register after I dismissed the original offer?
Sending your registration to us will sign you up to receive special promotional offers to Day-Timer, it will also sign you up for our completely free monthly newsletter and give you the opportunity to fill out feedback surveys which will help us improve the app to your liking.
If you wish to sign up and dismissed the registration screen already you may do so from the settings menu of the application. Simply tap Settings then scroll down and tap the Registration button. On this screen you may fill out your first name and email address and tap Register
If you wish to unsubscribe from any or all of these services, return to the same screen mentioned above and uncheck the services you do not want. When you are finished tap Update Registration.

Can I change the appearance of the calendar?
Absolutely! Currently you have two different skins to choose from. Tap settings and tap Skin to select which of the two you would like to use. The default Plan2Gos a is standard brown and yellow theme, while Pink Ribbon is made up of pastels and pink and shows our support for breast cancer research.
In the newest version of our app, you may purchase additional Themes which will change the appearence of your calendar to match ou classic Day-Timer styles. For more information on how to puchase these themes please click here.
Please note that you will be making these purchases using your iTunes account through Apple, any questions about the in-app sales should be directed at Apple by calling them at 1-800-MY-APPLE.

Which iPhone/iPod Touch versions is this app compatible with?
Plan2Go works with any Apple device which is running iOS 5.x, except for iPads. Unfortuantely this means that the 3G is no longer compatible with Plan2Go.
Since the release of iOS4.2 for the iPad you are now able to run Plan2Go on your iPad. However it is optimized for the smaller devices, if you choose to increase the size (by using the 2x button in the lower right corner) you will experience a small loss of quality.

How can I set up repeating/recurring appointments?
When you create a new appointment, or edit an existing appointment, you have the option of making it repeat. Go to add/edit an appointment from either the home screen or within your calendar. Set up/edit the appointment on the day it is to begin. To create a repeating appointment, tap the arrow located below the repeat heading. Next, decide how often you would like the appointment to appear. You can choose Every Day, Every Week, Every 2 Weeks, Every Month, Every Year (great for birthdays!) or Week Days (Monday to Friday) only. Last, by using the dial at the bottom of the same screen, choose the month, date and year in which you would like the appointment to stop repeating. Make sure that this date is different then the first occurrence of the appointment or the appointment will not repeat. When youre done, tap Done! You can cancel or change these settings at any time by choosing Edit in the View Appointment screen.

Is my information being saved on an external server, and is this safe?
Some of your task information is being saved on an external server in order to keep track of your most recent tasks syncs. However this server is secure and the transfer from your phone to outlook is done using secure protocols.

How long does it take to connect to the server?
Connecting to the server should only take a few moments, although this is dependent on your carriers Internet service or the strength of your signal to a wireless connection.

My pop-up notifications arent working - do I have to set my phone to receive them?
Yes. From your devices main settings, tap Notifications and switch the toggle to on. The applications using the Push Server will be listed here. If you cannot hear your alarm dont forget to check you phones main volume control!

How do I change from Calendar Day-View to Calendar Month-View?
You can change your default calendar view within the Settings screen or double tap on a date box in Month-View to change to Day-View. To switch from Day-View to Month-View click the calendar icon in the upper left corner of the app. You may also shake your iPhone to toggle between the two views.
While in month-view you may also single tap a day to see an abbreviated version of day view beneath the monthly calendar.

What do the colored squares and circles that have now appeared on my Month-View mean?
You may have noticed that some of the days on your month view have become populated with different colored squares and circles. These are an indication of what kind of tasks and appointments you have scheduled for that day. Squares represent tasks while circles represent appointments. The color they are says what category those appointments or tasks are in. For example, if you have two red appointments, one blue appointment, and three yellow tasks on May 5th then One red circle, one blue circle and one yellow square will appear on May 5th. For more detail on a specific day simple double-tap it.

How do I change the end time of an appointment or task?
Go to the appointment or task you would like to edit and tap it, then tap Edit. Tap Time & Date and tap the Ends section. Use the spinner at the bottom to update the ending time and then tap back. Then when back on the Edit Appointment screen tap Save.

How do I see the next day, or the day before, when Im in Calendar Day View?
To change the day there are arrows next to the date which you can tap to change the day forward or backwards one day. Also, switching to Calendar view will allow you to move through many days more quickly.

How do I change the time zone or regional settings?
Plan2Go automatically adjusts to your phones main settings. When you update your phones settings, the app will automatically change too. However, some of the apps features will remain in English.

Can I send the details of an appointment or task to someone?
Yes, you can send a text email containing the details of your appointment or task by tapping the Email Task or Email Appointment button on the bottom of the detail screen. Choose from an address within your address book or type in a new address (tap on the + sign located on the To: line). The email is sent from your default email account (which is determined in the main iPhone settings).

How do I mark a task as Complete or Incomplete?
You may change the status of a task by tapping the task then tapping edit to bring up the Edit Task screen. Then scroll down and tap status. On the next screen you may select the new status of that task. Then tap back then save.

How do I delete or edit an appointment or task?
In the View appointment or task screens, tap the Edit button in the upper, right hand side of your screen. Choose Delete Task or Delete Appointment to remove the appointment or task. If you are editing/deleting a reoccurring appointment, you will be prompted to delete just that one appointment or the series of appointments.

What does the red counter mean that appears over my icon?
The red circle with the white numbers that appears in the top, right hand corner of your Plan2Go icon alerts you to the number of outstanding tasks. This includes overdue tasks from previous dates and tasks due today.

Sometimes my app seems to get stuck on a certain day, or does not sync. Why?
We find that this problem is often caused by people not closing the app all the way. Since the introduction of multitasking to the iPhone and iPad some people are confused about how it works. To close an app entirely: Double press the home button. Tap and hold any of the icons which appear until all of the icons begin to shake. Click the red minus sign next to our app (you may need to swipe left and right to find it). Click the home button or tap the screen when done. After updating my iPhone the app doesnt appear to start correctly, for example loading without the menu. What do I do?
Some users have encountered this issue when updating their iPhones. Most users have found that uninstalling and reinstalling the app restores the missing menu buttons. Since we backup your appointments using the iCal function of your phone this process will not cause you to lose your appointments or tasks.
If you are unfamiliar with this process you can refer to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1702 under the Reinstall the application heading. This page contains instructions for how to uninstall and then reinstall an app.

What email service can I use with the Day-Timer app?
The Day-Timer app can be used with any email service which you can connect to your iPhone. If your email service offers a calendar (such as Gmail and Google Calendar) then that calendar will sync into the Day Timer app. In the same way, if you have Outlook on your computer and you use it without an Exchange account (such as using a POP3 sever) you can sync your Outlook appointments with your iPhone through iTunes which will then also appear in our app. If you are not familiar with syncing Outlook contacts and appointments then you can find more information at this Microsoft support page: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/synchronize-outlook-and-apple-iphone-or-ipod-touch-calendars-HA010266829.aspx

Must I have access to an Exchange Server?
In order to sync to Outlook without having Microsoft Exchange you must use the Sync to Outlook feature of iTunes. This will require you to plug your phone into your computer in order to perform the sync. In attempting to install the plug-in update, I used the repair option but it did not work?
In order to install the new plug-in update you must first uninstall your current plug-in version. Make sure to close down Outlook and then use the Add/Remove Programs function of Windows to do this prior to installing the new version. Will this Calendar sync to my other web based calendars, i.e. Google, iCal, Outlook?
Yes, once you have setup your iPhone to Sync with your favorite Web-based Calendars - your calendar information will populate your Day-Timer calendaring app.

How do you set up Calendars to Sync on your iPhone?

  1. Open the Settings application on your device's home screen.
  2. Open Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Account, select which calendar you wish to sync with
  4. Enter Account Info, your name
  5. In the Email field, enter your full Account email address for that calendar.
  6. Enter your Account password as the Password.
  7. Enter a Description
  8. Tap Next at the top of your screen.
  9. Choose Cancel if the Unable to Verify Certificate dialog appears. Check your spelling of your email address and password to ensure they are correct, then select Next again.

Your calendar appointments will now be synced with your Day-Timer Calendar App.

Can I select the color that my calendar appointments populate my Day-Timer App?
When you sync your Web Calendars with your Day-Timer App a unique color is assigned to each calendar. For example, if you synced Outlook all appointments appear in the same color while your Google Calendar appointments would appear as a different color. You may change this color by going into the settings menu and tapping Default Calendar Category. There you will see a list of the calendars you are currently syncing with. Tap the one you wish to change and tap the category you wish that calendars appointments to be imported into. You will receive a message asking you to choose whether or not you wish the currently existing appointments which came from that calendar to also be moved. If you do tap yes if not tap no.

Why do all my Outlook Calendar Events appear as the same color?
When you sync your Web Calendars with your Day-Timer App a unique color is assigned to each calendar. For example, if you synced Outlook all appointments appear in the same color while your Google Calendar appointments would appear as a different color. The color is assigned by calendar type imported into your Day-Timer App.

Is there a limit to the number of Calendars that I can sync with my App?
There is no limit to the numbers of calendars that you may have synced to your calendar at once.

How can I import my Facebook events?
To import your Facebook events you will have to integrate your Facebook account into your Day-Timer app. To do this tap Settings and then scroll down until you see the Facebook icon and tap it. If you are already signed-into your Facebook account through the Facebook app then this will automatically bring you to a page which shows which parts of your Facebook account we would need access to. If not then your Safari browser will open up and you will be asked to sign-in.
Please read over this privacy information carefully and if you accept tap the Allow button, if you do not accept tap Cancel. Please understand that if you would like to use our Facebook feature you will need to allow us the minor access that we are requesting.

The tasks are imported from your PC. All imported tasks brought into the App from a single location are placed into the same category.

What do I do if I purchase a new iPhone?
If you remember your initial user name/password, simply enter those in the new iPhone. If you dont recall the credentials, you will need to setup your account again. Select the download button from our Web page, and remove the plug-in. Then setup like a new user by reinstalling the plug-in and providing a new user name and password. Remember to update your user name and password on your iPhone settings page too.

What do I do if I deleted my user name/password and cant remember the initial input?
You may enter a new username and password by clicking the down arrow next to the "Sync Tasks to Day-Timer Button" on your Outlook toolbar. In the menu that appears click "New Account" you may then fill in a new username and password. Please remember that you must also change these credentials in your iPhone settings.

I am using Outlook 2010 and cant locate the "Sync tasks to Day-Timer" Button, where can I find it?
Outlook 2010 is the first version of Outlook to use Microsofts new Ribbon style toolbar, this organizes your buttons differently then you may be used to from previous versions. Day-Timers icon is located on the Add-Ins tab of your Ribbon. Please see the image below for help.
If the Add-In tab does not appear it may be turned off. To turn it back on click File then Options. Then select Ribbon Options on the left. On the right hand list look for Add-Ins and make sure that there is a check next to it. Then click Okay and the Add-Ins tab will appear.
